Rules
Team Setup
Playing Your
Team
-
Each team needs to dress and set
their lineups for each night
-
Teams must continue to meet the
roster minimums [10-5-3]
-
We have to go with Yahoo for the
rulings on "IR" and "NA".
-
Try to make it on once every
other day at a minimum.
-
Participate in polls / etc
throughout the season where required.
Waivers
-
Each team gets 5 waiver picks for
the year
-
Each team can IR 2 players per
week. The first IR guy is regular, the 2nd IR guy becomes an
emergency "E-IR" and this player cannot be kept no matter what. Your
first IR can be kept and used as a waiver pick when your injured guy
returns
-
Picks must be submitted and
received before 12 noon Sunday for that week
-
When submitting picks, make sure
to list the player effected on your roster, and a list of replacements in
priority order. It's recommended to list between 5-8 players as
other teams may be selecting them as well.
-
Waivers go in priority order of
worst to first in the standings on that Sunday
-
Waivers cannot be traded [sorry
Bubba]
-
You have all Sunday and Monday if
needed to place your pick in your lineup. After that, you lose that
waiver pick, and cannot pick him up.
-
If you have an IR replacement who
himself gets injured and goes IR, you must drop him and pickup another
replacement. You cannot have a string of IR players all linked to
themselves.
Trading
-
Trading can only happen to
improve your team for this season, or if building for next season
[keepers].
-
You cannot make a trade in any
way that will purposely effect one opponent or the standings.
-
Once both teams have accepted the
trade, both teams should post "trade good" on the message board approving
the deal. Only if the trade and it's players were made by mistake
can you post "trade bad".
-
Trade deadline is the same as the
NHL.
-
If you trade and IR guy or IR
replacement, you must include his linked player [both the IR and IR
replacement together] in the deal, or you burn a waiver.
-
For the rookies: It's
advised to use your own method for reviewing trade offers. Yahoo
offers rankings which are questionable, so develop your own ways of
reviewing offers. You may miss a good deal if you just judge based
on Yahoo.
Keepers
-
Teams must keep 3F, 2D, 1G to
start the next season
-
Each player's salaries go up $5
Keeping it Fun
-
Keep the message boards for
insight / humour / questions.
-
Don't bad mouth other teams /
GM's
-
If you have a beef with
something, send the commish an email
-
Have some fun with your team and
it's 'history'. Many great names have graced the sport past and
present: Rick Tumm, Muffy & Buffy, Lou Lebanon, Colin Allcars, Bubba Beer,
etc. Have some fun building a team history / aura.
